Empowered Parenting: How Faith and Love Shape Your Child’s Future

A Shout-Out to Parents Raising the Next Generation

Parenting is one of the most profound responsibilities in life. It involves nurturing a boy from childhood to manhood and guiding a girl from her younger years to confident womanhood. This is the essence of parenting.

In this second episode, we explore how your identity as a spiritual being empowers you to become a highly effective parent. When you embrace your spiritual nature, you gain the ability to connect with your child collaboratively and interdependently.

This deep connection enables you to inspire them to grow, evolve, and mature independently—discovering their abilities, talents, and personalities while building confidence.

The ultimate goal is for you to be assured that no matter where your child is in life, they are in charge of their world.

The Power of the Faith and Love Principle in Parenting

As a parent, recognizing yourself as a spirit being means understanding that you reflect the image of your Creator. And just like the Creator, you are meant to operate by the principles of Faith and Love.

Faith: Seeing the Future Within Your Child

Faith is the ability to envision the future of the child before you today. When you look at your daughter, do you see a strong, responsible, independent woman? Do you see a woman who stands firm, makes sound decisions, and faces life with confidence?

When you look at your son, do you see a decisive, responsible man—one who is bold, communicative, and proactive in his interactions with the world?

The child you see today is not just a temporary version of themselves; they are already complete, sovereign beings with limitless potential. Faith allows you to see beyond the present and recognize the king in your son and the queen in your daughter.

Love: Speaking Life into Your Child

Faith shapes the way you interact with your child. Once you acknowledge their future greatness, your conversations, actions, and discipline will reflect that belief.

For example, if you believe your daughter is a queen, you will speak to her with love, respect, and encouragement. You won’t label her negatively or diminish her confidence. Instead, you’ll use words that affirm her worth, intelligence, and strength.

If you see your son as a future king, you’ll communicate with him in a way that fosters responsibility, wisdom, and self-discipline. Kings are not spoken to in a demeaning way; they are engaged with honor and guidance.

Setting the Pace: Be the Example Your Child Follows

Children model what they see. If you honor and respect your child, they will learn to honor and respect themselves. If you love them unconditionally, they will grow up with self-love. The way you treat them today sets the foundation for their future self-perception.

As a parent, your faith in your child’s potential should guide every interaction. Use words of affirmation, create an environment of trust and respect, and encourage them to see themselves as capable, valuable, and worthy.

Take Action: Visualize and Share

Now, take a moment to reflect. When you look at your child today, what do you see? What future do you envision for them?

Drop your thoughts in the comments below and let’s start a conversation. Let’s affirm our children’s greatness and guide them toward their best selves.

It’s always a pleasure sharing these insights with you. Stay tuned for the next episode in the SHAPE Parenting Model series!
