The Power of Dominion: Embracing Leadership in Your Life

One of the greatest blessings God has given us is the ability to have dominion in this world. We are created to be leaders, to be masters, to sit on our thrones executing different purposes, pursuing different goals, and chasing different dreams. It brings joy to God when we take our leadership roles seriously because He designed us to lead, not to be led aimlessly.

Taking Charge of Your Life

Leading your life means making conscious decisions about your direction, rather than waiting for someone else to take the reins. You cannot walk through life expecting that someone will come to lead you, direct you, or make decisions for you. The blessing of dominion is upon you—you have the permission and the responsibility to rule your life and lead it effectively.

Anytime you do not take charge of your life, things start to go wrong. Proverbs 29:18 states, "Where there is no vision, the people perish." A visionless life is a life without discipline, direction, or purpose. Without leadership, life becomes chaotic and rudderless. When you fail to lead your life, it becomes difficult to attract the right people who can inspire, uplift, and push you toward your destiny.

Aligning Your Plans with God's Purpose

Proverbs 19:21 reminds us that "Many are the plans in a man's heart, but the Lord's purpose shall prevail." So, what are you planning today? Consider the different aspects of your life:

  • Your Personal Life: Are you happy with your personal development and growth?

  • Your Relationships: How are you interacting with your spouse, children, and others?

  • Your Career and Business: Are you making progress toward your professional goals?

  • Your Interpersonal Skills: Do you communicate effectively and with respect?

Self-reflection is key. Are you showing yourself kindness, compassion, and gentleness? Are you extending the same to others? Leadership starts within—when you lead yourself well, you naturally influence those around you.

The Power of Planning

Planning is an essential part of leading a successful life. The heart has been given the power to imagine, create, and form ideas, which are then actualized through actions. What plans are you making concerning your career, finances, and family?

Genesis 1:26-27 reminds us that we are made in God's image and have been given the blessing to lead. However, while planning is crucial, it must be qualified by God’s purpose. After setting goals, we must constantly seek God’s guidance to ensure our plans align with His will.

Work with Purpose, Not in Vain

Psalms 127 warns, "Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain." Toiling outside of God's purpose leads to frustration and exhaustion. Instead of merely working hard, focus on working with purpose—using your God-given gifts and talents to solve problems and create a better life for yourself and others.

The Key to Success: Plan, Act, and Align with God

To live a life of meaning, you must:

  1. Plan your life: Without plans, life lacks order, direction, and a sense of purpose.

  2. Take action: Constant movement and progress prevent stagnation and hopelessness.

  3. Seek God's guidance: Ensure your plans are in harmony with God's greater purpose.

When your plans align with God's purpose, success follows. Even if you make mistakes, God’s purpose will ultimately guide you back on track. True leadership is about continuously moving forward, refining your vision, and ensuring that your actions are purposeful and aligned with divine wisdom.

So, embrace your dominion, take charge of your life, and lead with confidence—because that is exactly what you were created to do.
